10 quick questions for Calvin’s Car Diary from our users

It’s time to have your say!

This week we let you lot have your say, asking Calv to answer some of your questions so you can get to know him a bit better. Here’s a selection of our faves:

   What was your first car?

   The first car I ever owned was a Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v Ecotec. It had full leather, heated seats (gotta keep the bum toasty!) and a sunroof too. #CalvSpec 😎

   What was the first car you ever sold?

   Funnily enough it was a gold Vauxhall Astra GTE 16v! Me and my brother/business partner Leon bought it together from a private seller in our hometown of Luton, and later sold it for £700. A tidy £350 profit – not bad for my first sale at 16-years-old! 😂

   Crazy enough, the cheapest (and only) one on AutoTrader is currently sitting at £10,995! Wish I kept it in the garage now… 🤦

   Could you see Kai taking over the channel one day?

   Kai asks me all the time if he can take over my channel one day. If it turns out that he’s passionate about making content then I’ll definitely get him more involved with the channel. Kai loves music and he’s very creative so it wouldn’t surprise me if he became interested in making music or perhaps dancing or singing.

   He has other hobbies and interests so it’s hard to know which way he’ll go but I’ll always encourage him to do whatever he wants to do so we’ll see… Calvin’s Car Diary just might one day be Kai’s Car Diary!

   What are your future plans for BINCA?

   To be honest, it’s really hard to say! We’ve gone from strength-to-strength every month since opening and grown massively over the past two years, exceeding all our expectations and plans. We always want to do more though and the potential for BINCA is endless, but the plan for now is to just to continue growing, and of course being #ONIT.

   How does the draw work?

   Every week at 3pm on a Friday, our clever little computer script runs through all the week’s prizes, and randomly picks an entry from each one who is then our lucky winner! 🥳

   Do non-Dreamcatchers actually win?

   Yes! So far a number of our car giveaways have been won entirely FREE by non-Dreamcatchers.

   What is one car you wish you never got rid of and why?

   My Lotus Carton! For all you youngsters that don’t know what a Lotus Carlton is, then it’s basically a Vauxhall saloon upgraded by Lotus to be a sports car capable of reaching speeds of up to 177 mph – not slow for something built in 1990!

   Made in only one colour called Imperial Green, I sold it originally to make a bit of profit to fund other stock, but it definitely hurt to let that one go. 💔

   If you was to buy back any car you’ve previously sold, what would it be?

   It would have to be my old Ford Transit van. I owned this vehicle the longest out of them all, and over that period of time the van absolutely served such a good purpose.

   Would you ever do a new series on your channel e.g. fixing a car up or trading cars?

   100%! Something I’ve always thought I would love to do is a car series where I start off with a budget and keep buying and selling upwards to see how far I can go. Unfortunately with my busy schedule it’s very difficult to do right now, but I really hope one day I can bring it to the channel. 📺

    How did you start off the car business?

    At first me and my brother Leon had a car wash, then before long we started buying cars off private sellers and selling them from home. After enough time we were able to set up a car sales then later on The Car Buying Shop, and things have just carried on growing from there.
